Parent and Grandparent Super visa

A Super Visa permits you to visit your children or grandchildren for up to 2 years at a time. It’s a multi-entry visa and it provides entries for a period up to 10 years.

This program allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to visit their children and grandchildren for a period of up to two consecutive years at their initial visit without the need to renew their status.

It is a great option for those who want to invite their parent or grandparent to Canada and do not meet the minimum income requirement for the Parent Grandparent Sponsorship Program or did not meet the first come first serve expression of interest earlier this year.

Who is eligible to Apply for the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa?

The parents or grandparents of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident may be eligible to apply for the Super Visa. The Applicants cannot be inadmissible to Canada on medical or criminality issues. They may however be required to meet specific conditions set forth by the visa office through which they will apply, in order to be granted entry into Canada if an issue does arise.

The child or grandchild must facilitate medical insurance for the applicant, provide proof of income and provide an invitation letter for the application.

It is important to know that no dependents are allowed to be included in the application. Only the parents or grandparents, coupled with their spouses or common-law partners, are allowed to be included on an application for the Super Visa.
